Year 5/6 football

19.01.2017 Year 5/6 football team played Chilton Primary School and lost 3-6.

13.12.2016 Sports Council Meeting

Present – Year 6 – Ellie H, Holly O, Ian, Ciara Year 5 – Sunny, Bertie, Edgar, Sophie, Rachel W
Term 1 and 2 have started well with intra sports cross country, football and athletics. Ciara and Ian have offered to write a report about the KS2 football and netball intra sports.
Mrs Brew announced to the children that we applied for the Oxfordshire Sports Awards for Sporting Primary School of the Year. Every school in Oxfordshire can apply for this and we have been shortlisted down to the last three. There will be a presentation evening in January for staff to announce the winners. Bertie, Sunny and Sophie will announce this to the children in achievement assembly Thursday afternoon.
We talked about how we can look after the equipment in school and Edgar has offered to look after the KS1 shed and monitor how the play leaders are putting things away and looking after the equipment.

Vale Athletics Winners

Vale Sports Hall Athletics On Tuesday the 24th January a team of 19 children attended the Vale Sports Hall Athletics final at Wantage Leisure Centre. The children were not only competing against the Wantage and Faringdon schools that attended in the afternoon but also against the Abingdon schools that had taken part in the morning.
The children took part in track and field activities such as obstacle race, over under race and varying lengths of relays as well as speed bounce, javelin, chest push, verticle jump, long jump and triple jump.
The final results were announced and Wantage were announced the overall winners 2 points ahead of Millbrook School! The team will now attend the Oxfordshire School Games Final and represent the Vale.
